17 August Ceremony Held in IKN, Electricity Supply Guaranteed Smooth
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) ensures that the electricity supply will be met during the first Independence Day ceremony held in the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN). The development of electrical infrastructure is currently being accelerated.
"The progress of the electrical infrastructure development in IKN is reported to be almost 100% complete," said Ida Nuryatin Finahari, Secretary of the Directorate General of Electricity of the Ministry of ESDM, quoted from the Ministry of ESDM website on Monday, June 17, 2024.Ida, who is also the Head of the Electricity Sector Planning, Development, and Relocation Task Force for IKN, stated that all supporting utilities, such as electricity, are expected to be distributed through the Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT) so that the IKN can operate according to its initial development concept.
"The problematic MUT points will be resolved a month before the main event takes place," Danis explained.
Agung Murdifi, General Manager of PLN UID Kaltimra, expressed the readiness of PT PLN (Persero) in both upstream and downstream aspects to supply electricity to IKN.
"Our team has prepared everything to ensure the electricity can operate according to the existing electrical scheme in IKN," Agung explained.
Furthermore, Agung stated that PLN is intensively coordinating with all parties in IKN to ensure that the electricity distribution using MUT can be operated soon and the operational preparations ahead of the 17th proceed smoothly.
